Forging Class for Integrals

This is the 4 knives that 2 students took home after my 2 day integral forging class. These knives were forged from 2 pieces of 52100 round bar that was 12 inched long. A blade forged on both ends and then cut and the tang drawn out. The blade style and handle shape is chosen by the student with Bois D Arc being the standard handle material. Other material can be used at an additional cost.
The cost of the class is $350.00 per student and I can handle up to 3 students at a time. I have no minimum number of students so it can be a one on one for personal instructions. The minimum age is probably around 12 years old. If the student can drive a 16 penny nail into a 2 X 4, they can probably do the forging necessary to make the knife. I do touch up the blade if needed and help make sure that the knives are something they can be proud to show their friends.
Included in the tuition is a place to stay and noon meals furnished the two days of class. We have a one bedroom guest house with twin beds and a couch if needed. A refrigerator, stove, micro wave and coffee maker are available for the students use. Usually, the students are done by 3:00 on the second day and are headed home.
The dates of the class are what ever is mutually agreed upon and can be during the week or a weekend. The student should have a long sleeve shirt, gloves, and safety glasses. All the rest is furnished.
I do have an air hammer, press, forge and other equipment as needed. You learn to use what I have and are free to copy anything I have made, including knives. 🙂
